CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations done less than 48 hours prior to the morning appointment time will forfeit a $25 cancellation fee PER SURGERY. Location: Baldwin Purple Cat 1570 10th Avenue Baldwin, WI **IMPORTANT NOTE: The Baldwin Purple Cat location is located behind the Feuerhelm Langer, LTD CPA building off of HWY 63 in Baldwin. GPS incorrectly takes you across the street to the Fire Department.
Drop off time 8:00 to 9:30 AM, pick up time 3:00 PM Pick-up will be between 1pm and 3pm for most cats, some earlier and rarely some later. Please plan on picking up your cat by 3pm. There is a $30 late fee for every 30 minutes past 3pm.
Any cats scheduled for SPAY or NEUTER must be less than seven years old. BARN/FERAL does not have this requirement as it’s often hard to know their age. Please note that any cat over seven years old is considered a senior cat and should ideally have bloodwork done before any surgery to look for underlying diseases. We do not provide laboratory services at Purple Cat.
All surgery prices include anesthesia and long-acting pain medication.
CRATES MUST BE CAT-SIZE AND CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT. ONE CAT PER CRATE.
Fill out and bring a surgical consent form with you to your appointment–ONE PER CAT.
SPECIAL NOTE ON NEUTER: Occasionally, male cats will be cryptorchid, which means one or both testicles have not descended into the scrotal sac. We try to locate the testicle(s) in the inguinal (groin) area in these situations. If we cannot find the testicle there, then the cat will require abdominal exploratory surgery. We can often perform this special surgery for an additional cost.
SPECIAL NOTE ON BARN/FERAL: Cats in this category receive a MANDATORY EAR TIP on their left ear to mark them as sterilized. Ear tipping saves them the stress of being trapped again and being put under anesthesia a second time. Vaccines are included in the cost for all barn/feral surgeries.
SPECIAL NOTE ON PREGNANT CATS: Any cat found to be pregnant will be spayed, and the kittens aborted. Cats in early pregnancy will have a $20 fee added and cats in later pregnancy will have a $30 additional fee that must be paid in CASH or CERTIFIED CHECK at the time of pick up.

Purple Cat performs spay and neuter surgeries on healthy cats and kittens ages 6 months to 7 years.
The cost of surgery includes the surgical-specific exam, anesthesia, surgery, and long-acting injectable pain medication. For Farm/Feral/Colony cats, the cost of surgery also includes the Rabies and Distemper vaccinations and MANDATORY EAR TIP. *Important: For Farm/Feral/Colony cats, please include sex of cats in the “order notes/additional information” section of the Check Out page. For pet cats (not getting ear tip) a yearly distemper/FVRCP booster vaccination, or Rabies vaccine, can be added to the order the day of your appointment and cannot be paid by credit card.
KITTENS (AGE 6 -12 MONTHS) MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED PRIOR TO SURGERY-SEE FAQ https://www.purplecatvet.com/faq/ FOR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS. ADULT CATS (OVER 12 MONTHS) ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THEIR ONE YEAR BOOSTER VACCINE AT LEAST 3 WEEKS BEFORE THEIR SURGERY APPOINTMENT. ONLY FERAL CATS THAT CANNOT BE HANDLED ARE EXEMPT. This vaccine protects against three very common viruses (herpes, calici, panleukopenia) that cause symptoms ranging from upper respiratory infection to vomiting/diarrhea and very sadly to death. These viruses are found everywhere in the environment – they are outside your home and sometimes can be tracked into your home. We have made this a requirement due to the increase number of cases this year.
