For your cat’s safety, ALL PET CATS MUST BE OVER 6 MONTHS AGE AND CURRENT ON THEIR FELINE DISTEMPER VACCINATION (a.k.a. 3-way or FVRCP) in order to come for surgery. Please see our FAQ page on what our requirements are. Purple Cat does offer walk-in vaccine appointments during open clinic hourse. See our page “OUR LOW COST VACCINE CLINICS” for more details. Failure to bring your cat vaccinated may result in canceled surgery and loss of deposit. FERAL CATS ARE DEFINED AS AFRAID OF HUMANS THAT CANNOT BE HANDLED AND ARE EXCLUDED FROM THIS REQUIREMENT.
All surgery appointments require a $25 deposit at time of scheduling. This is a $25 non-refundable deposit PER SURGERY.
If you cancel or need to reschedule less than 48 hours prior to your appointment drop off time, then there is a $25 non-refundable deposit PER SURGERY. We keep the deposit because we do not have time to fill your appointment with that short notice. The remainder of your surgery cost will be refunded to your credit/debit card. If you cancel or need to reschedule more than 48 hours prior to your appointment drop off time, then there is still the non-refundable $5 processing fee but the remainder of your surgery cost will be refunded to your credit/debit card. You will need to reschedule on your own at your convenience.
You will receive an email confirming your order at the time of order placement. If you do not receive an email confirmation, that means your payment did not go through and you should repeat the process. It is important that your credit/debit card information matches your name and address exactly, otherwise the payment will not go through.
You will also receive a separate informational email a few days prior to your appointment. This email contains VERY IMPORTANT information on location, drop-off time window, before surgery instructions, the surgery consent form that needs to be printed and brought in with you to the appointment, and after-surgery instructions. On the day of the appointment, you can purchase the following services.
- Rabies vaccine-$30 (must be at least 12 weeks and 2.8 pounds)
- Distemper vaccine-$20 (This is a booster Distemper. Your cat should have already received their first several distemper vaccines according to this vaccine schedule.)
- Ear mite treatment-$10
- Flea treatment (Selamectin)-$15
- Nail trim under sedation-$5
- Buprenorphine-$45 (Add-on long-acting Buprenorphine injection for pain for extra-sensitive cats) **NOTE ALL CATS RECEIVE LONG ACTING NSAID AT TIME OF SURGERY INCLUDED IN PRICE
- Note: Pregnant cats will be charged an additional $25-$45 per cat
